O sentido da audição. Deficiência auditiva e surdez. Tipos, etiologias e graus de surdez. A surdez congénita e adquirida.
Surdez e desenvolvimento psicológico: pensamento e linguagem. Famílias de crianças surdas. O desenvolvimento da linguagem em crianças surdas.
Para uma educação bilingue e bicultural da criança surda. As respostas educativas actuais e o Despacho nº 7520/98.
O acesso à educação, à formação profissional, ao emprego, à justiça, à saúde, à cultura e à informação pelas pessoas surdas.
